The power of God or the power of perfection?

I’m conducting a psychological experiment and I’m beginning it on yahoo answers, so all of you are going to be essential parts of it.
NOTE: If you are an opposing religion, assume the sense of the world "God" is symbolic for the power to do everything and know everything. Please, no religious debates on here.

A man approaches you and tells you he will give you 1 of 2 gifts.
The first gift is the complete power of God. The only flaw is your chances of being able to use this gift is 1000 to 1.
The second gift is the king of earth alone, where you have the power, through persuasion (like a politician) to make the world perfect as you wish to see it.

Please don’t rush. Take time to think about this and consider all possibilities.

It seems answerer #1 is very skeptical of my experiment.

This is not a trick question, the man is irrelevant, assume the power alone is being offered.

And yes, assume someone DOES want power.

Also, the 1000 to 1 chance says that if you choose the power theres only 1 chance in 1000 that it will work. If it works you will know, the problem is you dont get to know until you chose.

First, I would question, "why me?"

Regardless of their answer, I would respectfully decline the offer. That kind of power entails a responsibility, which carries with it a burden I am not willing to shoulder. What would be the point of having "God-like" power if you couldn’t use it? (If there are limits on "God-like" power, then it isn’t really "God-like" power…is it?) Regardless of my vision of "perfection" it would not be "perfect" for everyone, so it could not be "perfect".

You’re assuming all people want some form of power to begin with…do they? Why would they? Also..is this some sort of trick question, I mean how can a MAN be able to offer such superhuman powers:)??? Where did he get them himself? Who is he:)?

***if you get gift #1, I’m not sure what the gift is..do you gain knowledge instantly but only get to use it 1000 to 1? But if you gain the knowledge don’t you know when that 1000 to 1 will happen? I’m confused what this gift is..

I will choose the 2nd gift. There are 2 reasons why I don’t choose the 1st gift:
    1. The power of GOD will make me inhumanly powerful, and I might, unintentionally, use such power to do something that will cause me or other people close to me, harm in the end.
    2. The very rare chance of me being able to use the gift will make it difficult to make any correction necessary, should I made something wrong with this gift.

The 2nd gift, at least it is still human..
