Canada has something about 470. 000 registered hockey players and much more and better icestadions and training facilities.

so during that expanse of time 90% of the NHL was canadian and NONE of their best players were allowed to play in the Olympics,
but the entirety of the russian national team who SHOULD have been playing in the NHL because of their talent and thereby unable to play was able to
until 1998 there was a no pro player rule in place for the olympics so they had a huge advantage

girl you are wrong USSR/RUSSIA has 8 GOLD medals and canada 7. canada won 6 of them in the early times when ussr does not had a team. when the red machine (ussr) entered the worldhockeystage canada managed to win 1 gold medal in 2002. worldchampionship titles are 25 to 24 in favor of Russia. so you see we are right now the BEST hockey nation in the world but canada is also good and the 2nd best.

Thank you. I am an American, and I do acknowledge this as a “miracle” because if you look at this from a pure hockey standpoint, the Americans had no business even playing with the Soviets let along winning.

How can you say that the US has no passion? How would you know? Pretty much everyone in the NHL has a passion for hockey… don’t even try to convince me otherwise. They were all probably playing since they were very young obviously… Don’t tell me they would go through all the practices and games and hard work if they didn’t have a passion for the game. Sure, there are probably some that are just in it for money only. But that occurs everywhere, not just US
