God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the tempation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it”.

Whenever I am really challenged with a temptation, the minute I cry out to God to help me not do anything stupid or to please help me not do what is right in front of me, He provides a distraction or just simply as scripture says, “a way out” for me. But it is my responsiblity to cry out out to Him. Clearly, if I am depending on my own strength to have self control, that explains all my failures. He says trust Him, I need to trust Him. He will provide a way out for me and for you. Hold on, cry out to Him, He is right there waiting for you to need Him.

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The Bible contains his instructions for us and if we love him, we should study it diligently and obey each and every instruction. We are warned that we are in a spiritual warfare and there are a lot of false teachers and false doctrines in this world. If you are familiar with the whole armor of God that we are to put on, the only offensive weapon that we are given is his word. You cannot follow a preacher, you must study the Word and follow it. Proverbs chapters 1 through nine gives wonderful instruction on this. There are a lot of doctrines that are not taught or are not taught properly that you will find if you prayerfully and repeatedly study the Scripture. Do it for yourselve and out of love for the brethren that you might be able to speak truth to them.

Who God caused to lose his sanity for a time to prove God rules over All. But I think we have misinterpreted it’s true meaning. What it means is that noone is in Power except who God "lets" be in Power.
If a people are good, God might let them have the Power. But power corrupts in our World. So if those people abuse thier Power. God might let a warlike people have the Power, to put an end to the abuse of the ones who corrupted what God gave them.
Such is the Nature of Our World, not God. And God might allow Power to go to an abusive people to bring another people closer, to fight the enemy. But if they fail to do that, that is thier failure, not Gods.
When will we lose our self-righteous blinders and use clear-thinking and wisdom?

When we stop refferencing an obsolite religious text for moral and social guidence.

Aside from territorial and political disputes, the biggest cause of armed conflict in the world is religious.

God doesn’t ‘put people in power’. It’s dangerous to belive that (look what happened to Charles I). If you must belive in a deity at least look into other sources for your information. Posting these kind of quesions in the religion and spirituality section would be a good idea too.

Jeremy D – If you’re a christian, don’t you belive in free will? Surely if god determines the flow of fate/destiny it’s impossible? You can’t just pick and chose when you follow a line of logic, you have to stick to it.

We are tempted on a daily basis by the devil. The indwelling Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth…..and He will also empower us to turn away from the temptation.

Maybe it exists. Maybe it doesn’t. Knowing for sure is impossible.

We comprehend very little of nature and the universe. We may think we understand HOW things work, and that everything can be explained by science, but we have no idea WHY this is so and how it all came to be. And we’ve been wrong even about the HOW before. What we have right now is one possible explanation, and at the moment it may fit, but it’s not necessarily the right one. And there are scientific theories about parallel universes and dark matter and the continuity of time and unseen dimensions.

Honestly, I think the real nature of the universe, which may or may not include the presence of a higher conscience, is probably something we’re not capable of even imagining, like what the 11th dimension would look like.

What objective method do you use to determine whether something is a miracle, or just something you do not understand?

A miracle occurs when a person is recovers from some medical malady after their church has a prayer vigil for them. Never mind that the person went to MD Anderson Cancer Center also. It must have been Jesus intervening.

Do you beleive the government controls everything? Do you beleive that everything happened for a reason, or do you think that everything happened by accident, and we are just here cause of evolution or do you think god put us here for a greater reason that surpasses out thinking capability?

My opion is; We are here to entertain some kind of creater. I don’t look at the bible more than being just a book. No one can give an accurate description of the creator. I tend to think its a inteligent field source of some kind, rather than some man up there with a whip looking down on us. But if it has any humanistic resemblance at all, I would favor it as a feminen entity rather than male.{Goddess]. I think the early middle easterns when they wrote the book, decided that an all mighty god has to be a mans image because men are pysically stronger and a god would have to be as such. Another view may had been, men are king and god is king, so he must be man.. To me that is ignorant reasoning. A God {Goddess]can be soft and strong within. Who can say women are not strong? Women have a different kind of strength, and its just as strong as male.
