Whenever school starts back up in a few weeks, I was thinking about trying to go and witness to people on campus about how much love and grace that Christ has to offer if you let him in your heart. Tips on how to approach people and should I have tract cards with scripture on them to help me? What would be a good location on campus and good timing through the day.
They have Campus Ministry that you should contact, they have helped lead many to Christ and I am a strong supporter of their efforts. Check with your church and see who you need to speak to about it. Keep the faith.

god, i hope i don’t go to college with you.

I think you could advertise Bible study classes, like a potluck and see if that would get you quality people who are up to listening. What you are doing is admireable but it could waste a lot of your time, verses, getting quite a few people with a potluck.

Don’t just approach them.
Unless a person asks or seems interested, evangelizing is totally unattractive.
Just be a witness through the way you live your life, and don’t be proud about it. Just be a the son or daughter of God you are called to be. I’m sure your heart is on fire, and you want to shout His name off the rooftops.
But you need to be subtle about it. I know that’s sad, but its the way the world operates today. If you’re preaching on the street corners, people won’t listen unless they already believe.

Step one is to understand that you should NEVER witness to people who don’t want to listen. You can read the whole bible, cover to cover, and you will see that the only time people were bothered by Jesus’ preaching, he stopped and left.
If you preach to people who don’t want to hear what you have to say, what you are inadvertently doing is closing them off to the message because they then naturally associate Christianity with pushiness and such. If you leave them alone, any Christian friends they may have will, in the future, be far more likely to succeed.
So if you’re going to say "street preach", the best method of doing so is to stand somewhere in the open with a sign that basically says something like "ask me about Jesus" and stand there in silence until someone approaches you. This way the interested people can learn from you, while the disinterested will not feel accosted by you and leave with a negative view of Christianity.
I know that keeping your mouth shut is a hard thing for people to do sometimes, but I guarantee that if you preach to those who don’t want to hear it, you HURT, not help, their chances of conversion.
So to ultimately answer your question – don’t approach anyone. Put yourself out there and let them approach you.

Be a good example and witness in that way. Don’t turn people off with talk about being saved. They will say, "Saved from what?" Don’t talk about the blood of Jesus washing away sins and stuff like that. Just be a good Christian in your dealings with people and how you live your life.
