Great question with a simple answer, that is depending on how you define relationship.
In the broad sense we all have a relationship with Christ. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe. So by default he owns and cares for us. Therefore we have a relationship by default, however if you are talking in the more personal sense here is where things get tricky.
The Bible does not use the term relationship, however it uses terms such as, to know, believe, have faith, and describes a state of being "in Christ" if that is what you mean by relationship, then it is extremely important to have one.
The consequences of not having one will have you facing an eternity without the grace and love of God, but only the wrath and judgment of God. It is a very serious subject, which is why I’m glad you asked this important question.

Oh I don’t know…let me name a few. Well He is the literal Son of God born in the flesh. He is the Father of our salvation and through the Atonement He has made it possible for us to come back into the presence of our Father in heaven. a lot of ppl think it’s naive to believe in jesus christ … like it’s some childish need to feel like there’s something more. actually though, the history of the bible is quite fascinating. for the bible to have been written by so many people over so many thousands of years and still be so cohesive and historically accurate is amazing. there’s no other book like it anywhere. i suggest you study the history of the bible.

DUDE im telling you…jesus is the only way to live. you may think being christian means buckling down and rules and what not but its SOOO Much more than anything like that. i used to be wild and my life was so empty, when i began to live for jesus and let him work in my life…THE MOST AMAZING things began to happen. i didnt like to get drunk and smmoke all the time, i just wanted to live for god and when i did that, things were literally placed before me. I met the most amazing boyfriend (amazing looking i might add) and you realize whats truly important in life, what you do for others and just sharin some love. But its important because its the ONLY way to live, any other way its like your not even living, or your dying just to live (temporary highs like drugs and such) when really we should live to die, because our life here is only a temporary dwelling and whats important is making it to what is available after life on earth…heaven!
