What questions do you have about having a closer relationship with Jesus Christ?

I’m doing research on having an close relationship with Jesus Christ. I’m already a Christian, by the way, and already know the gospel. But I would like questions that I can use to delve deeper into my study.

Should I pray to the father in Jesus’ name or should I just pray directly to Christ?

As a Catholic we recieve the Eucharist at Mass and that for us is the most intimate you can get with Jesus because it His body and blood, it is Jesus himself. An awarness of Jesus at all times would be great but I understand that I cannot always attain that through weakness. If there were any questions I would like to know how other people ralate and talk to Jesus in their prayers.

I like "matz129" ‘s answer referencing the Holy Eucharist at Mass. I would like to increase his focus on the Mass itself as a wonderful way to develop an intimacy with Christ Jesus, the Eucharist being the essential focus of the Mass. I would also like to add, on a more personal level, that here at home I increase my intimacy with Christ Jesus through my copying of the Bible, word-for-word, with a ballpoint pen on looseleaf paper. I began that in the Spring of 1987, and completed my first copy of the Bible 7 and 3/4 years later. That would’ve been in 1993 or ’94 if my calculations are correct. And I remember that as I drew to the completion of my first copy, I was both elated at having done so, but also somewhat upset that I would no longer have that daily intimate time with Christ in copying His Bible. Then it dawned on me that there was no rule that I couldn’t do it all over again, and so, about one week later I began copying two Bibles, both Roman Catholic, as an ongoing prayer to Christ for my two children, now ages 24 and 25. As a father, I just felt that my kids could use ongoing prayers for years to come, and so I can copy God’s Word again, on looseleaf paper with a ballpoint pen. And as I got through much of the Old Testament, two other reasons for a "Bible-copying prayer" came up, and so now I’m copying 4 Bibles as ongoing prayers for special people: my two kids, my neighbor who laughingly asked me to copy the Bible for him (he and his wife have constantly espoused their disbelief in God), and for a woman who used to be here on Answers, "Ave Maria", who a while back was becoming a discalced Carmelite nun, and came on Answers to ask our thoughts about her becoming a discalced Carmelite nun, and our prayers in her making the right decision. These copyings keep a closeness between me and God that I relish and have never before experienced. It will take at least 20 more years to do all 4 of them since I’m copying Roman Catholic Bibles (The Revised Standard Version and The Douay-Rheims Version), and if I live that long then I’ll be thankful. If I live longer than that, I’ll start all over again. And if I don’t live that long, I will have died with a closeness to Christ that was of my choosing, and on a daily basis.

I’m sorry you had to get so many immature and vulgar responses here, but remember, this is Yahoo Answers, and you can bet that trash and vulgarity are "the order of the day" for the most part. God Bless you.
