What are things you can do to improve with this?
I was in a bible study small group called Masterlife, and we learned this concept called the disciples cross teaching us how to grow closer to Christ. The four parts of the cross are reading the bible, prayer, fellowship with believers and witnessing to non-believers. So pick a certain time of the day to read the bible and pray, and stick to it so you can grow closer to Christ, become a member of a good bible teaching church, and go regularly if you don’t already, and then pray for opportunities to witness to people. Even if you’re nervous, trust that the Holy Spirit will lead your words, and besides the fact that you will spread the word of God and help lift up a non believer, you will see that it will also bring you a lot closer to Christ.

Read your Bible and join a study group. It’s a wonderful way to communicate with Jesus and know His word.

Know, that he will always be here for you, a prayer or two over that loved one will bring you on a direct connection with god.
be proud of your faith, in a lot of ways, people are ashamed of there religion, not to themselves, but to admitting it to a friend.
be strong, always, in faith and in mental capability.

truly, the primary way is through the Word, because Jesus is the Word made flesh. once you know who He is, how He feels, you can grow by spending time in His presence, meditating on His goodness. by doing so (beholding Him) we are changed from glory to glory

Spend time talking with Him, just as you would talk to your best friend. Tell Him about your plans for the day, about your hopes for the day……..just converse with Him. He is interested in every facet of your life. Read your Bible, for in it He is talking to you. The book of John is a wonderful place to start. As you read, you may find certain Scriptures that sort of ‘speak’ to you. Mark them with the date, and underline them. They are some of the ways the Lord talks to you. Treasure His Word……and just be His friend !! Blessings.

By knowing your Self. Christ is within. "Be still and know I AM GOD". focusing on the breath helps, but who is breathing?

First you have to ask Him into your life. Next start praying to Him and letting Him talk to you. Read His word, and start to fellowship with others who have made Him their Lord as well.
Then give yourself time every day if possible to earnestly seek His presence. Just like you would make time for a friend, make time for God. Find a quiet place, and begin to "meditate" on God’s word, something in the scriptures that really ministers to you. Right now for me, I keep reminding myself, that "God’s grace is sufficient enough to meet all my needs."
After relaxing your mind and thinking about how good God has been to you, you will start to feel His spirit growing larger inside of you.
There are times too when we face great trails in life that bring us closer to God. Those are the best times to grow and also it goes without saying the least comfortable. But just like pop-quizzes in school, we must have them if we are to see where we need to "study" more for the really big exams that come along in life.

Pray to Jesus about the Word of God. Hear the Word Preached. Sing praises in praise & worship. Pray in the Spirit building up your most Holy Faith.

The Lord reveals His secrets to those who call upon His Name, pray to God asking about His Word & who pray for others.
Mostly…
Trust & obey, there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus is to trust & obey.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. God Is who God says God Is. And God has promised to never leave or forsake us.
Also pray first thing in the morning in the Spirit building your most Holy Faith. Read some scripture. Then follow after the Spirit throughout the day. Abide in Christ. Abiding in Gods Love & Gods Word.
We say it because we believe it.
Also learn who you are in Christ. And thank God for who you are.
Like you are Gods Child. You are a memberof the body of Christ. You are joint heirs with Christ sharing His inheritiance with Him. You are a temple of God. His Spirit dwells in you. You are Christs friend. You are chosen & apointed by Christ to bear His fruit. You are a personal witness of Christ for Christ. You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are heir of God since you are a child of God. You are a Saint. You are Gods workmanship created in Christ ot do His work that He planned before hand that you should do. You are a fellow citizen with the rest of Gods people in His family. You are a citizen of heaven & seated in heaven right now. You are hidden with Christ in God. You are a sheep of His Pasture. You are born of God & the evil one can’t touch you. You are an enemy of the devil. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for Gods own possession to proclaim the excellencies of Him. You are a prisoner of Christ. You are not your own, but purchased with a price.

Impossible!!
There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record – that is right – not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah – all of whom are well recorded!!
Outside of the bible he is not mentioned in anything until hundreds of years after his supposed death!!

Talk to Him as you would anyone else. Include Him in all of your day. Give Him all your interests, cares, fears and needs. Be honest with Him even with your deepest thoughts. Theres nothing that we can hide from Him. He already knows our thoughts but He wants us to be honest and up front with Him.
Read His Word, meditate on what it has to say, study His word, even memorize passages of scripture to speak in conversation as the Holy Spirit leads you.
And surrender your whole heart to Him even the darkest corners. Let Him come in and shine His wonderful light in you that your whole being would be illumined by His presense.
Lastly, listen for His still, small voice speaking to your heart.
Let me say honestly that all I have shared with you I have to work on in my life. None of us is perfect……yet.
