2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The Bible contains his instructions for us and if we love him, we should study it diligently and obey each and every instruction. We are warned that we are in a spiritual warfare and there are a lot of false teachers and false doctrines in this world. If you are familiar with the whole armor of God that we are to put on, the only offensive weapon that we are given is his word. You cannot follow a preacher, you must study the Word and follow it. Proverbs chapters 1 through nine gives wonderful instruction on this. There are a lot of doctrines that are not taught or are not taught properly that you will find if you prayerfully and repeatedly study the Scripture. Do it for yourselve and out of love for the brethren that you might be able to speak truth to them.

Or are they essentially one in the same? I am relatively new to Christianity and am trying to get a better understanding – please don’t take my question the wrong way.

It means to believe in Jesus alone for salvation, it really is that simple :)

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation.

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what!

Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)

I tell them that not that long ago my life was a miserable mess. I was unsatisfied, self-centered, angry, had no peace, and made my loved ones around me miserable also. Plus had some very bad things as a lifestyle.

I knew that what I was do was wrong, but I loved my sin and the addiction that came with it….but down deep I hated it because I knew that it was wrong and was really making be unhappy……I was very much like the prodigal son in the bible.

After many years of this I finally returned back to God. I repented and ask Jesus to forgive me for all the things I had done. Jesus changed me. Today I am a new person. I now have the peace, love, joy and hope that had been absent in my life for a long time.

Jesus forgave me and made me a new person. Now I see the world in a totally different way. I try and read my bible and study the word every day. I have been set free from my past and now have a future with inter-peace. I had to deal with the pain of being transformed. It’s not easy giving up a sin that you love but you know that it is destroying your life. God gave me that strength.

That is just my experience. Jesus offers all of us the same kind of freedom and peace if we just ask him. That we ask him to be our Lord and Savior and repent of our sins he will forgive us of our sins and set us free.

I never been under a woman ministry before so Im a member know and im feeling uncomfortable what seem to me as a spirit of control on her part, because she says she wants us to be obedient to what she says. I feel like she my mother or a dictator then my pastor. If im the one in rebellion then im asking the lord to forgive me!

Find a different church, there are hundreds of them in Vegas.

To sum up the book of Roman, it is about Grace, unmeritted favor of God, and No more condemnation being in Christ.

JESUS has died for all our sins, past, present and future sins. There is no more sin in our life that needs to be pardoned, as all has been pardoned on the cross. Thus, the bible told us in the books by the apostle Paul there is no more consciousness of sins, we are all having the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus when we received Jesus Christ to live in our heart, we are no longer bound by the law of sins but by the grace of Jesus who took away all sins and inequity forever !.

Then Jesus will work within us to transform us as a new creation, work from inside out by the Holy Spirit that He promised in the Bible. Including healing us from any infirmities & unhealthy habits, like mental illness, smoking, pornography / sex addictions, homosexuality, etc. will be healed in His name. This process will take time and will not be immediate for some. Just always go back to Jesus Christ whenever you fall and ask Him for help to strengthen you. His promise is to heal all of us in Body, soul and spirit.

And i read a lot about him. He’s my hero. I’d do anything to be with in heaven. But its not my time yet. Jesus has been great to me. I feel him helping me every day.
He has asked me to start reading more about him and the Christian religion. I listen to Spirit 105.3 all the time.

Jesus said, "If you love me you will obey my commandments." Read the Bible and pray without ceasing. Any other book you read besides the Bible, you should compare to the bible. If it doesnt match up then throw it out. Find a good bible teaching church. Fellowshp with other believers.
